Casino Bonus — How to Actually Read the Fine Print

The multiplier determines how much you must wager before you can withdraw. A 500₪ bonus with x40 = a 20,000₪ turnover. If the game's house edge is 4%, the expected loss over that turnover is about 800₪ — meaning the bonus has negative expected value.

Check whether the multiplier applies to the bonus alone or to bonus + deposit — the difference doubles the requirement.

Deposit bonus — a percentage match on your deposit. The most common type.

No-deposit bonus — a small amount given without a deposit, almost always with high wagering and a low withdrawal cap.

Free spins — for a specific slot; winnings usually convert to bonus money with wagering attached.

Cashback — a refund of a percentage of losses. Usually the fairest, especially when it's "real money" with no wagering.

Not every game contributes equally to wagering: slots are usually 100%, roulette 10%-20%, blackjack and baccarat 0%-10%, and live games sometimes 0%. That's not a coincidence — the games with the lowest house edge are exactly the ones that get blocked.

A withdrawal cap on bonus winnings (e.g. maximum 5x the bonus), a maximum bet during wagering (usually 20-25₪ per spin), an expiry date (7-30 days), and a "bonus abuse" clause that can wipe out even the winnings. Breaching any of these voids the whole win.

Check the wagering terms before you deposit, not after. Calculate the expected loss (average bet times required turnover times house edge) and compare it to the bonus amount itself — if the expected loss exceeds the bonus, it has no real value. Prefer bonuses with low wagering (x10-x20) over "big" bonuses at x50 or more, and always read the game contribution clause before choosing which game to complete the turnover on.
