The hand starts with two forced blinds (Small Blind and Big Blind). Each player receives 2 hole cards. The first betting round (preflop) begins — you can Fold, Call, or Raise.

The dealer then reveals 3 community cards (flop), a 4th (turn) and a 5th (river), each followed by another betting round. At showdown, remaining players reveal cards and the best 5-card hand out of 7 (2 hole + 5 community) wins the pot.

• Preflop: You get 2 hole cards and decide whether to stay in. Betting starts left of the Big Blind.
• Flop: 3 community cards revealed. You see the potential of your hand. Betting starts left of the dealer.
• Turn: 4th community card. Bets typically grow.
• River: 5th and final community card. The most critical decisions — no more cards to come.
• Showdown: Remaining players reveal cards. Best hand wins the pot.

• Play fewer hands, better: Beginners lose because they play too many weak hands. Rule of thumb: only 15-20% of hands are worth playing.
• Position is everything: When you act last (Button) you have information on every opponent. Play wider from this position.
• Pot odds: If the pot is 100 and you must call 25, you're getting 4:1. Only call if your equity is above 20%.
• Learn to fold: Folding is sometimes the strongest move. Beginners struggle to fold pretty cards — it costs them.
• Watch pot size: Don't invest more than 1/3 of your stack on a medium hand.

Ranges: Advanced players think in ranges, not single hands. Instead of "what does he have?", they ask "which hands can he have here?".

C-Bet (Continuation Bet): Betting the flop after raising preflop. Profitable in ~60-70% of situations when you are the aggressor.

3-Bet: Re-raising preflop. Used for value with AA/KK/QQ/AK and as a bluff with hands that have potential (suited connectors, weaker connectors).
