Why is it crucial to know the hand ranking by heart?
One of the most common mistakes among beginners is wasting precious seconds at the table thinking "wait, is a flush stronger than a straight or the other way around?". In fast poker — especially on ClubGG, where the timer is short — you have to recognize your hand at a single glance.
The 10 winning hands — from strongest to weakest
Remember: poker hands are always built from 5 cards (the best combination of your 2 hole cards plus the 5 community cards in Texas Hold'em).
1. Royal Flush
A-K-Q-J-10 of the same suit. The best possible hand in poker. Statistical odds: 1 in 649,740. If you get it — take a screenshot.
2. Straight Flush
5 consecutive cards of the same suit, for example 9-8-7-6-5 of hearts. Odds: 1 in 72,193.
3. Four of a Kind
4 cards of the same rank plus a fifth card (the kicker). For example: four queens plus a 7. Odds: 1 in 4,164.
4. Full House
Three of a kind plus a pair. For example: three aces plus two kings. Odds: 1 in 693.
5. Flush
5 cards of the same suit, not in sequence. The highest card decides ties. Odds: 1 in 508.
6. Straight
5 consecutive cards, not of the same suit. An ace can serve as either the highest or the lowest card (A-2-3-4-5). Odds: 1 in 254.
7. Three of a Kind
3 cards of the same rank plus 2 other cards. Odds: 1 in 46.
8. Two Pair
Two pairs of cards with different ranks. Odds: 1 in 20.
9. One Pair
Two cards of the same rank. The most common winning hand. Odds: 1 in 2.37.
10. High Card
None of the combinations above are present. The highest card determines the winner. About 50% of hands that reach showdown end this way.
