Open Face Chinese Poker (OFC) is one of the most fun and misunderstood variants in poker. It's based on arranging 13 cards into three rows — no betting, pure hand strength between players. This guide covers rules, royalty scoring, the Fantasyland mechanic, and beginner strategy.

Each player gets 13 cards arranged in 3 rows:
Top: 3 cards · Middle: 5 cards · Bottom: 5 cards.
Iron rule: top must be weaker than middle, middle weaker than bottom. Invalid arrangement (foul) = 0 points for the whole hand.
Open face: you get the first 5 cards to place, then one card per turn until 13. Everything is visible — opponents watch your arrangement live.
Row-by-row comparison: 1 point per row won. Winning all 3 rows (scoop) = 3 bonus points.
Royalties: Top: pair of AA = 9 pts, trips = 10–22 pts by rank. Middle: flush = 8 pts, full house = 12 pts, quads = 20 pts. Bottom: flush = 4 pts, full = 6 pts, quads = 10 pts.
If your top row is QQ or better (no foul) — the next hand is Fantasyland: you receive all 13 cards at once and arrange them closed.
Huge advantage — easy to build strong hands and collect big royalties. Experienced players aim for Fantasyland every game.
1. Never foul. A single foul can cost 10+ points. When in doubt, play conservative.
2. Bottom row first. Always plan bottom, then build up.
3. Fantasyland is worth risk. If you can get QQ+ on top — go for it even at the cost of a weaker arrangement elsewhere.
4. Watch opponents. If a rival is aiming for Fantasyland — sometimes block his key cards.
