What is Sit & Go (SNG) in poker?

A Sit & Go (SNG) is a specific tournament format designed for quick play and immediate action. Unlike scheduled MTTs, an SNG starts as soon as a predetermined number of players (typically 6, 9, or 10) have registered, eliminating wait times. These tournaments usually play out on a single table and conclude relatively fast, often within an hour or two. SNGs are excellent for refining short-handed play, bubble strategy, and heads-up skills, making them a popular choice for players looking for a faster, more predictable tournament experience. Mastering SNGs requires a tight early game and aggressive play as the bubble approaches.
