The showdown is the pivotal moment at the conclusion of a poker hand, specifically after all betting rounds have finished on the river. At this point, any players who have not folded must reveal their hole cards to the table. The player holding the best five-card poker hand, according to standard poker hand rankings, is then awarded the entire pot. Strategic play leading up to the showdown often involves bluffing or value betting to influence pot size or induce folds, aiming to secure the pot without having to reveal your hand.
