A straight is a five-card poker hand comprising cards of consecutive rank, such as 6-7-8-9-T or A-2-3-4-5. The suits of the cards do not need to match. The Ace can function as both the highest card (A-K-Q-J-T, known as 'Broadway') or the lowest card (A-2-3-4-5, referred to as a 'Wheel'). When two players both have a straight, the one with the highest card in their sequence wins. Building straights requires careful consideration of board texture and opponent ranges.

On a board of 4-5-K-6-A, holding 7-8 would give you a straight, but holding 2-3 would give you a 'Wheel'.
