What is Semi-Bluff in poker?

A semi-bluff involves betting or raising with a hand that is currently weak but has a good chance of improving to a strong hand on a later street, typically a draw. Unlike a pure bluff, a semi-bluff offers 'two ways to win': either your opponent folds immediately, or if they call, you still have the opportunity to hit your draw and make the best hand. This makes semi-bluffing a highly profitable and strategically sound play, as it applies pressure and builds the pot while providing valuable backup equity, making it more robust than a speculative pure bluff.
